So, 10 days in and I’m 19 miles into my 31 miles challenge for National Walking Month (May 2016).
That is – to ‘Walk A Mile A Day In May… with my Kids’.
See here for the original blog.

Calendar 2016. Planning calendar for May 2016.
Here’s how the ‘hard’ miles have been done
# Miles 1-4: Quick couple of circuits around Pugney’s Country Park with Alex and Chris. 27m to go.

Not the best of weather, but the boys were troopers
# Miles 4-6: A quick walk around Shibden Park with Alex and Chris. 25m to go.

Loving this pic. Chris in his ‘bouncer’ pose!
# Miles 6-7.5: A cheeky walk around the block after school with Alex and Chris. 23.5m to go.
# Miles 7.5-10: A walk to town and back with Alex. 21m to go.
# Miles 10-11: A walk around Greenhead Park with Alex. 20m to go. Alex was on his bike, so this may constitute cheating??
# Miles 11-19: Wanderings around Whitby and to Saltwick Nab and back. 12m to go.

A little selfie, just after we arrived in Whitby

Oh dear! I think I’ve worn them out…
12 miles to go and 3 weekends to do it in, including a long Bank Holiday Weekend, so I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got this one in the bag.
I am thinking about extending this out to the end of the year – which will, by the end of May, be another 215 miles to be done. Sounds impossible, but on the basis of what we’ve done in May it should actually be a doddle.
What do you all think?
Walk A Mile A Day For The Rest Of The Year, With My Kids?
Looks like fun! Enjoy your kids they grow up too fast.

Thanks for the comment. I know what you mean, but at the same time I can wait a little while until I’m the Walking Grandad!.
